Polished Concrete in Sarasota, FL
A ground-and-polished finish for a clean, modern, low-maintenance concrete look — for residential spaces and commercial floors alike.

How Polished Concrete Is Made
Polishing uses progressively finer diamond grinding tools to smooth and refine the concrete's surface in stages, rather than adding a coating on top of it. The process can expose the natural aggregate in the concrete for a terrazzo-like look, or stay at the surface level for a more uniform appearance, depending on the level of grind. A densifier is typically applied partway through to harden and strengthen the surface before the final polishing stages.
Residential & Commercial Uses

Residential Interiors
Living areas, garages used as finished space, and homes going for a modern, minimal concrete look instead of a coated color finish.

Commercial & Retail Floors
A durable, low-maintenance floor that reads as intentional and modern in retail, office, and showroom spaces.
Polished Concrete vs. Epoxy Coating

Polished Concrete
No topical layer — the slab itself is polished. Limited to concrete tone (dyes possible).

Epoxy Coating
A coating bonded on top of the slab, with a wide range of colors, flake, and metallic finishes.
| Factor | Polished Concrete | Epoxy Coating |
|---|---|---|
| Long-term maintenance | Low — no coating to wear through | Low, but topcoat can wear or need refresh over time |
| Hiding slab imperfections | Limited — imperfections stay visible | Better — flake and color can mask minor flaws |

Slab Condition Matters More Here
Because polished concrete is the slab itself, existing cracks, discoloration, and repairs stay visible in the final result in a way a coating could otherwise cover. We evaluate the slab honestly before recommending polishing over a coated system. See our surface preparation page for how that evaluation works.
