Cure Speed
Polyaspartic's chemistry reacts and cures significantly faster than epoxy, often allowing light use within a day rather than the multi-day cure window standard epoxy needs. That speed cuts both ways: installers have less working time to apply and manipulate the coating before it sets, which is part of why polyaspartic installation is often priced higher.
UV Stability in Florida Sun
Standard epoxy can amber or yellow with prolonged direct sun exposure — a real consideration for anything outdoors or in a sun-facing garage in Sarasota. Polyaspartic holds its color better under UV exposure, which is why it's the more common choice for pool decks and outdoor concrete.
Abrasion & Hot Tire Pickup
Hot tire pickup — marks left when a hot tire softens a coating and pulls at it while rolling — is more of a risk with lower-grade epoxy in a hot garage. Polyaspartic generally resists this better, though quality epoxy systems also perform reasonably well.
